What will you do?

Christ & Holy Trinity is dedicating June 6 to giving thanks by doing good. It’s important and easy for every member of our parish to participate in this ‘Faith in Action Day’ – whether young or old, at home or away. Do whatever moves you, but do something. Beginning next week sign-up sheets will be posted in the Parish Hall and you do so right now, right here! Everyone is invited to either join a group activity that day, or name what they will do independently or as part of their own small group. The goal is that we all participate in this profound, collective and fulfilling act of good stewardship. Choose your own, or be part of the group activities that need you, including:

    • Fix up the Linxweiler House (‘Homes with Hope’) 10am-2pm 20 maximum participants - Clear trash and brush, garden, repair stone wall. Flat shovels and wheelbarrows needed. Contact: John Branson, jbranson@chtwestport.org
    • Gardening in Susan's Garden. 9:30am-1:30pm 12 maximum participants. Contact: Joyce Mueller, dearjoycemueller@yahoo.com
    • ‘Walk for Autism’, Manhattanville College, Purchase 10am-2pm Unlimited participants     Change the future for all who struggle with this disorder. Contact: Holly Stevens, hm.stevens@yahoo.com
    • Co-host, serve Pancake Brunch for Gillespie Center residents and friends. 10am-2pm At least 30! participants. Contact:  Wynne Abrams, Lloyd Nash, Dawn Sullivan, wynnea@optonline.net , lloyd.nash@snet.net , dsullivan@insourcepartners.us
    • Make meals for homebound, ill, or grieving 10am-2pm 4-8 per location. Cooking location(s) to be determined. Contact:  Debbie Finan,  dfinan@optonline.net
    • Paint a neighbor in need’s home. 9am-finish 20-25 age13+ participants. Youth Group and parents are encouraged to sign up! Contact: Kerith Harding,  kharding@chtwestport.org
    • Gather for Prayer Shawl making and instruction. 10am-2pm 12 maximum participants. Contact: Mary Drogan, Katherine Griffing, mdrogan@gmail.com , baygrif@att.net
    • Visit, play games with patients-Westport Health Care am time 3-4 participants and pm time 3-4 participants. Contact: Ginny Wagenseller,  ginny.wagenseller@gmail.com
    • Interview elderly parishioners and write life stories and/or CHT history. Contact: Ginny Wagenseller, ginny.wagenseller@gmail.com
    • Paint interior of Center for Women and Families 10am-finish. Contact: Janet Navon,  jnavon@optonline.net
    • Sort children’s books, crayons, and toiletries for 10am-noon 4-5 families with small children. Center for Women and Families.  Contact: Kerith Harding, kharding@chtwestport.org
    • Diaper Drive for CCA and Mercy Learning Center 10am-3:00pm in CHT parking lot. Contact: William Englehart, pnenglehart@optonline.net
    • Help set up at the Farmers Market 9am-11:30am Saugatuck Church, 245 Post Road E., Contact: Ginny Wagenseller, ginny.wagenseller@gmail.com
    • (– Food donations too emphasizing healthy-choice staples)
    • Bring healthy staples to the Food Drive Farmer’s Market, Saugatuck Church, 245 Post Road E., 11:30am-2:30pm, Contact: Collette and Jeff Read, 203/222.1281
    • Recite a poem or meditation, sing a song, play an instrument to Celebrate the Earth, Farmer’s Market, Saugatuck Church, 245 Post Road E., 11:30am-2:30pm periodically throughout the day, Contact: Cece Saunders, 203/226.7654
    • A group or individual activity of your choice.
