Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is going into it's fourth year at Christ & Holy Trinity.  We are excited about the 2006 VBS and the theme this year is Pilgrimage.  We have had 100 campers enrolled and 20 counselors (primarily teenagers from the parish).

Our mission
is threefold:
  • To enrich each child’s understanding of their relationship with God!
  • To build relationships between teenager mentors and young children.
  • To seek God in the world in wacky, wet and wonder-filled ways!

We will explore Bible stories through drama, art, games and discussion. Led by wonderful teenagers and several adult volunteers, this is a high energy week that brings together children of all ages (particularly the child in every adult) to build their understanding of Christ’s work in the world!

Here are a few things to know about this year's Vacation Bible School:
  • Please apply sunscreen at home and dress daily with bathing suit under light clothing. Don't forget your beach towel!
  • Home base is in the Parish Hall, therefore check-in will be at the double doors as you enter the church parking lot. Please use the parking permit for your dashboard.
  • We are collecting health information about our campers. You can download the medical form by clicking here. Completed forms can be mailed in or dropped off at the church office by Friday, June 23 (Attention: VBS).
  • We will not be using any peanut butter or nuts in our snack offerings or craft activities.
  • First day check-in takes place between 8:50 and 9:10am. Regular camp drop-off time is 9:00am and pick-up promptly at 12:00 noon from home base, so the counselors have time to re-set camp before they leave for the day.
  • We would love to see campers with their parents or caregivers stay for lunch with us on Friday, so please let us know on Monday if you can join in this closing celebration.
  • We are still in need of adult volunteers either in set-up the Sunday (June 25) before and also during the week. Please contact Juan Martin (834-1529) or Maryelizabeth McManus (226-6625). We have babysitting available that week in the  nursery for children of volunteers.
Please send the appropriate item for each day of Pilgramage...

Monday: Bring a white t-shirt for yourself. We will decorate it at the painter's booth.
Tuesday: Bring one non-perishable food item (soup can, pasta box, etc.) for our local Gillespie Center.
Wednesday: Wear part or all of a costume that reminds you of the Middle Ages. Note: any wands/swords will be parked at home base.
Thursday: Bring one item for the Youth Mission trip to High Rock, Grand Bahama. The youth will run a VBS there and will need crayons, sidewalk chalk, construction paper, glue sticks, balloons, tissue paper, children's scissors, puppets, pieces of fabric, etc.
Friday: Just remember to stay for lunch and the closing celebration ends around 1:00pm.

For a registration form, please contact Marilyn Geti at
mgeti@chtwestport.org or call the church office at 227-0827.
